Racism
As I think about a battle,
Of which my race is weak,
A hope which ends in sorrow,
A tear descends my cheek.

As your shadow lights the doorway,
I discover what I seek.
But how can I fulfill it?
A tear descends my cheek.

Why must they be so doubtful?
How can I plead defeat?
After shedding my last tears,
I collapse upon the street.

How can they be so thoughtless?
When was I in the wrong?
Though I alone was brittle,
Together we are strong.

The Concept of Oneness of Religion

Here’s how we explain conclusively the oneness of religion: Baha’u’llah teaches that these Divine Messengers are like the teachers in a school. My first grade teacher knew algebra but did not teach it to me because I wasn’t ready to learn it. In the same way, each Divine Teacher tailors the message to the age in which He appears. They each communicate a vision to humanity. Abraham brought the vision of one God at a time when people believed in many Gods. He was like the first grade teacher. Moses, like the teacher of the next grade, expanded the vision to include the laws of God. Jesus brought the vision of love and salvation. Muhammad added submission to the Will of God. None of them denied the previous teachers, just as my high school teacher doesn’t deny my teacher of an earlier grade.

Just as a person grows from childhood to adulthood, humanity’s ability to organize itself in greater levels of unity advances with the messages of the Divine Teachers.

We can see how history repeats itself. Each Divine Teacher changes the people from violence to peacefulness. Each one is bitterly opposed by the religious and political leaders of His time. Yet, each of Their visions endures in spite on this opposition, because Their words are from God. Each of Them appears to be totally defeated in their own lifetimes, yet great civilizations are born from the Spirit They bring.

Just as the visions of the previous Divine Teachers have been accepted and become the basis for civilization, now is the age that will accept the teachings of the Bab and Baha’u’llah. A world civilization, based on love and unity, will be formed and people will again change from violence to peace. The entire world will be united under the Baha’is.

Unity prayer
